Frequently asked questions

How long do your soaps last?

If the soap is kept as dry as possible in-between uses then the soaps can last potentially for months solely as a handwash and anywhere from 1-3 weeks as a shower/bath product.

How long does the fragrance last?

We only  ever use essential oils and being natural in origin, they do degrade slowly over time. Synthetic fragrance oils are chemically designed to have a much stronger scent and are designed not to degrade. Some essential oils are stronger in scent than others (peppermint for example). Some have a more subtle scent but all keep an element of the original scent until the bar has expired.

Why don't you use palm oil?

We took the decision not to use palm oil as palm oil has been and continues to be a major driver of deforestation of some of the worlds most biodiverse forests.  For more info visit http://www.wwf.org.uk

Can i use the soaps instead of shampoo?

Currently, all our soaps are only approved as hand/face/body products. We are working on shampoo and conditioner bars at the moment and hopefully these will be available soon.

My skin is oily. Which soap would you recommend?

Geranium oil has shown to reduce excess oil and help skin mantain a healthy natural balance. Patchouli oil has long been used to balance oily and acne prone skin. Ylang-ylang has shown to help correct the amount of oil the skins sebaceous glands produce and ensure the maintance of moisture.

What's the best way to store the soap?

The most important thing is keeping the soap dry in-between uses and away from water when not in use. We recommend that the soap is kept horizontal and if possible kept in a soap dish or on a soap saver. To make the bars last even longer, try cutting them up into smaller pieces. That way only the piece being used is in direct contact with water.

I suffer from eczema, will i react to your soaps?

Although we only ever use natural products, that doesn't mean that all the ingredients are allergy free. This is why we list all the known allergens both on the product and on the ingredient card for every soap we produce.

How do you keep your carbon footprint low?

We only use local services where possible (both our designers and printers are a few minutes walk away). Being a totally vegan product and not using tallow or any other animal product. Not using any plastic packaging and using companies and suppliers with similar ethical policies. We focus on essential oil and dried botanical pairings to maximise the natural skin health benefits rather than the aesthetical value. This also reduces the requirement for additional products and processes and in turn keeps the products carbon footprint lower.(They all still smell fab though 😊).
